As a keen amateur genealogist, S&N co-founder Nigel Bayley had compiled his family history on a BBC Computer and wanted to transfer it onto a PC with Windows software. As he couldn't find a UK supplier of Windows packages for family historians, he decided to offer a UK service offering genealogy software for windows and S&N Genealogy Supplies was born in 1992.
